Handcrafted Knives from the land of Damascus Steel

Hundreds of years back the best quality Swords and Knives were forged from the legendary Damascus Steel. The Steel ingots also known as Wootz Steel for the Damascus steel were exported from India (present day Tamil Nadu/Kerala). However, over the years the production of this steel has come to a standstill.  

This range of handcrafted knives made by artisans from South India is a tribute to the rich metallurgical heritage we oftentimes fail to acknowledge and appreciate. Made from high carbon steel with rosewood handles and brass bolsters the design is modern yet made the traditional way- forged, hand beaten and oil tempered to last a lifetime.

Let us celebrate the artisans and also remunerate them well which will motivate the next generation to take up the trade.
