Traditional craftsmanship meets mindful cooking

The Bronze Kadai is a timeless essential in Indian kitchens, now reimagined for the modern home. Handcrafted from pure bronze, this 10-inch kadai offers durability, beauty, and health-enhancing benefits — making it perfect for everything from deep frying to slow cooking traditional recipes.

Product Specifications:

  • Size: 10-inch diameter
  • Material: Pure bronze — a traditional alloy of tin, copper, and zinc
  • Craftsmanship: Individually handcrafted by skilled artisans

Why Choose a Bronze Kadai?

  • Even Heat Distribution: Bronze conducts and retains heat evenly, ideal for deep frying and slow simmering.
  • Non-Reactive & Safe: Unlike copper or brass, bronze does not react with acidic or salty foods — making it suitable for a wide range of dishes.
  • Ayurveda-Approved: Bronze cookware has long been used in Ayurvedic kitchens for its therapeutic and energy-balancing qualities.

How to Identify Pure Bronze:

  • Sound Test: Tap gently — pure bronze emits a deep, resonant chime similar to temple bells, signifying authenticity.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Pure bronze resists tarnishing and is easy to maintain compared to copper or brass.

Please Note:

  • Artisan-Made: Slight variations in color and texture are natural and reflect the handcrafted nature of each piece.
  • Our bronze is made using the traditional alloy of tin, copper, and zinc.

Care Instructions:

  • Wash using mild dish soap or tamarind paste.
  • Dry thoroughly after cleaning to maintain shine and prevent oxidation.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or acidic foods.

The Bronze Kadai is not just a cooking vessel — it’s a celebration of Indian culinary tradition, designed to last for generations.

Cook consciously. Serve tradition. Only from Green Heirloom.

The Ayurveda of Bronze

Why Indian families have eaten and cooked
in bronze for two thousand years.

Pure Kansa is referenced in Ayurveda Prakasha as "Kansyam Buddhivardhakam" — the metal that nourishes both body and mind. Whether you cook in it or eat from it, your meals do something different in bronze.

Handcrafted bronze Kansa plate set

"Crafted with care.
Rooted in Ayurveda.
Made to last."

01

Alkalizes food, gently

Bronze balances acidity — whether food is cooked in it or served on it, supporting digestion meal after meal.

02

Naturally antimicrobial

Pure bronze inhibits harmful microorganisms — no coatings, no chemicals.

03

Aids digestion & immunity

Recommended by Ayurvedic practitioners for its calming, grounding effect on the body.

04

Sharpens intellect

Ayurveda calls bronze Buddhivardhakam — the metal that nourishes clarity when used daily.

05

Built to last generations

Doesn't degrade or wear out. The piece you buy is the piece your children inherit.

Maintain the shine

Utensils can be cleaned just like your other utensils. For bringing back the shine, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • 01

Wash the utensil with only water to begin with.
  • 02

Apply some Pitambari powder and scrub on all parts of the wet vessel.
  • 03

If you don’t have Pitambari, use a mixture of 1 bowl of wheat flour (atta), 1 spoon of salt and 2-3 spoons of vinegar.
  • 04

Rinse off the Pitambari or your home-made paste with water and wipe off any excess moisture.

Our most loved pieces, chosen time and again.
